The Australian Open has gotten off to a soggy start, with rain dominating the first day’s proceedings. A record number of fans had gathered to watch the world’s top tennis players in action, but the inclement weather had other plans.
Carlos Alcaraz, the world number three, was scheduled to train on court 16, but the storm forced him to relocate to the National Tennis Center. Due to the large number of players affected by the bad weather, Alcaraz had to share the court with Jannik Sinner, who was engaged in a battle with Stan Wawrinka. This unusual arrangement saw four players competing on the same court.
Day off
Alcaraz had taken a well-deserved break on Saturday after a hectic schedule of training and matches since Monday. The Spanish tennis star took some time to speak to the media and later attended a Pickleball presentation at the Crown Towers hotel, where he is currently residing.
