A five-match Test series will be played between India and England. The English team won the first game of the series by 28 runs, but after that the British lost heavily in the two Tests. England’s baseball has also flopped badly in India. Meanwhile, former captain and veteran batsman Sir Alistair Cook has harshly criticized the England team. He also gave captain Ben Stokes some advice.
Alastair Cook has recommended senior batsman Jonny Bairstow be left out of the team. Speaking to TNT Sport, he said: “In my opinion, the India tour has been very difficult for Jonny Bairstow so far. In such a situation, it is time to remove him from the batting lineup. I’m not saying that he can never play Test cricket again, but at the moment it would be better to use a player who hasn’t played in this series yet.
It’s worth noting that Jonny Bairstow has flopped badly so far in this series. He could only score 0, 4, 25, 26, 37 and 10 runs in 6 innings of three Tests. So far in this series, Bairstow has scored runs at a batting average of just 17.
The former legendary opener called for Daniel Lawrence to be included in the playing eleven. He said: “If you don’t score runs, the bowlers will plan against you and dominate you. So I would say Lawrence should be given a chance instead of Bairstow.”
Team India has decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah for the fourth Test. Cook believes England should also give Mark Wood and James Anderson more rest. Both have completed two tests each. There are also options for Gus Atkinson and Ollie Robinson in the team.
