Aladdin: central actor says sequel will take time

Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin was one of the big successes of Disney of the year 2019. Live-action remake of the anime by John Musker and Ron Clements in 1992, the film was a massive global box office hit, recording a trifle of 1.051 billion dollars in revenue. It therefore seems inevitable that a second part is in preparation. For a few months now, and as promised by the Disney Investor Day 2020, the classics Disney will see their universe greatly expanded. For the Beauty and the Beast, big commercial success too, a spin-off on Gaston and Lefou will be relevant while Vaiana: The legend of the end of the world will continue on Disney +.

It is near Screenrant that the Canadian-Egyptian comedian confided that Aladdin 2 was well in preparation since the writing was in progress at Disney :

“They are working on it. They are trying to make it happen. That’s really all I know. As you know, actors are usually the last piece of the puzzle, so the studio has a lot to do before they start thinking about actors. Obviously, I hope we all come back and that Naomi, Will and I come back along with the rest of the cast, Marwan, Navid, Nasim, everyone. But for now, as far as I know, they’re just working on the script and trying to get a consistent result out of it. “

This sequel is expected to move away from the animated Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar and come up with something from “underlying materials,” according to producer Dan Lin.
