Alabama church shooting leaves two dead, one injured

A shooting at a church in the US state of Alabama left two people dead and one more injured on Thursday, police said.

The events took place at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church located in the Vestavia Hills neighborhood, after which a suspect was arrested, the police department said on its Facebook account.

Police Captain Shane Ware told the press that a lone shooter entered the church and started shooting hitting three people, two died and a third is being treated.

The shooting took place during a potluck dinner activity, according to the church’s website.
