Alaba Rejects Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe Transfer Offer; Stays at Real Madrid

José Mourinho, the renowned Portuguese coach, recently made a bold move. He reached out to David Alaba, the Austrian center-back from Real Madrid. Mourinho’s goal was simple: bring Alaba to Fenerbahçe, his new club in Turkey. This information comes straight from the Turkish publication, Fotomac.

Mourinho tried to sign Alaba

Fotomac revealed that Mourinho even met Alaba in person. The veteran defender is 33 years old. Mourinho promised Alaba a key role, a top spot on the team. But it seems Alaba isn’t ready to pack his bags just yet. According to the same source, he told Mourinho he doesn’t plan on leaving Spain. He wants to see out his current contract with Real Madrid, which runs until the end of next season.

Alaba first joined Real Madrid in July 2021. He came over from Bayern Munich on a free transfer, a savvy move by the Spanish giants. Since making that switch, he’s played 14 games, totaling 599 minutes on the field.
