The actor had high hopes for his first release of the year ‘Selfie’ but the public has completely rejected the film. The film had a very poor opening and ‘Selfie’ failed to get a movie audience even on the weekend. According to preliminary figures from Sacklin’s report, ‘Selfie’ has collected only Rs 1.60 crore on the fourth day of its release i.e. Monday. With this, the total collection of the film has now risen to Rs 11.90 crore. Despite the cast of huge stars like Akshay and Emraan Hashmi, this collection of the film is impressive.
‘Selfie’ is the official Hindi remake of Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu starring Malayalam film ‘Driving License’. Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharucha and Diana Penty have played major roles in ‘Selfie’ directed by Raj Mehta. In the film, Akshay Kumar plays the role of a superstar Vijay Kumar while Emraan Hashmi plays the role of an RTO officer who is also a superfan. Right now the movie is jaw-dropping at the box office and it seems the movie hasn’t managed to recoup even half of its budget.
