Akshay Kumar’s Film ‘Sarfira’ Collects Rs 12 Crore in First Weekend, Falls Short of Expectations
Akshay Kumar’s latest film, ‘Sarfira’, released in theatres last Friday, but its box office performance has left fans and the film industry disappointed. The film, which was expected to fare well after Akshay’s previous film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ with Tiger Shroff bombed at the box office, has collected around Rs 12 crore in its first weekend.
Weekend Collection of ‘Sarfira’
The film started with a slow advance booking and was expected to pick up pace over the weekend. However, it has failed to impress, collecting 2.50 crores on the first day, 4.25 crores on Saturday, and an estimated 5 crores on Sunday.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Outperforms ‘Sarfira’
Prabhas’ pan-India film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which released on June 27, has continued to perform well in its third weekend. The Hindi version of the film earned 3.8 crores on Friday, 8.3 crores on Saturday, and 9.5 crores on Sunday, taking its total collection to almost 22 crores.
Akshay Kumar’s Recent Films Fail to Impress
Akshay Kumar’s recent films have failed to impress the audience, with his last film ‘Mission Raniganj’ collecting 12.60 crores, ‘Selfie’ earning 10.30 crores, and ‘Bell Bottom’ collecting 12.75 crores in their first weekend. ‘Sarfira’ has joined the list of Akshay’s flop films, collecting less than 15 crores in its first weekend.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Crosses 250 Crore Mark
On the other hand, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has continued to perform well, crossing the 250 crore mark in Hindi. The film has earned more than 254 crores in Hindi and over 580 crores worldwide in 18 days.
