Akshay Kumar is beyond thrilled to be working with his old co-star Madhu once again in the upcoming film “Kannappa”. The two have previously shared the screen in the films “Elan” and “Jalim”, and now, after 20 years, they’re reuniting for this new project. During the trailer launch of “Kannappa”, Akshay expressed his happiness about working with Madhu again, saying, “I’m so happy today that I’ve met Madhu ji. I worked with her in the film ‘Elan’, where she was in the lead role with me. I also worked with her in the ‘Jalim’ film. Today, I’m very happy to work with Madhu again.”
What’s even more remarkable, according to Akshay, is that Madhu looks just as youthful and vibrant as she did 20 years ago. He joked, “Looking at her, it seems like she goes to sleep in the fridge at night” – a testament to her timeless beauty. Akshay’s admiration for his co-star is evident, and it’s clear that he’s excited to be sharing the screen with her once again.
The film “Kannappa” tells the story of devotion and sacrifice, focusing on the life of Kannappa, a devotee of Lord Shankar, and the blessings he receives from Bholenath. The movie boasts an impressive cast, including Vishnu Manchu, Arpit Ranka, R.K. Sarathkumar, Kaushal Manda, Raghu Babu, Madhu, and Preeti Mukundan. Mukesh Kumar Singh is at the helm of the project as the director, with Mohan Babu producing.
Interestingly, this isn’t Akshay Kumar’s first time playing a divine role. He’s previously portrayed Lord Krishna in the 2012 film “Oh My God” and reprised the role in the film’s 2023 sequel. Now, he’s set to play Lord Shankar in “Kannappa”, which is slated for release on April 25, 2025. With his extensive experience in playing godly roles, it will be exciting to see Akshay bring this new character to life on the big screen.
