Akshar Patel will create trouble for Australia in Border-Gavaskar series, Watson explains why

The Indian and Australian teams are busy preparing for the Border-Gavaskar series to be played from February 9. You are seeing continued rhetoric leading up to the series. Meanwhile, now former Australian player Shane Watson spoke about the Indian team’s star, Axar Patel. He said that Akshar will be difficult for Team Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series. Akshar Patel’s special action can become a problem for the invited team.

Speaking about Akshar’s Patel, Watson said: “Akshar’s angle makes him really difficult to field. I’ve never faced him in Test cricket but always felt he was difficult to play in T20 cricket as well because of his release spot. His arms aren’t round but the arm is round and he shoots from a little bit out of the crease and the ball goes in from that angle I couldn’t really line it up if the ball spins then because of the angle it looks like it spins a lot.

Apart from this, he also talked about Jadeja’s bowling. He said that Akshar’s way of bowling is somewhat different from Jadeja’s. He said: “He’s different from Jadeja because Jadeja is generally a little closer to the stump and doesn’t angle as much on the ball coming at the right-handed hitter from his point of delivery.”

Akshar plays all three formats for the Indian team. He has played a total of 8 Tests, 49 ODIs and 40 T20 Internationals in his career so far. In Test matches, he bowled 47 wickets and scored 249 runs in batting. In ODIs, he has taken 56 bowling wickets and has scored 381 runs while batting. Apart from this, Akshar has taken 37 wickets in T20 International and scored a total of 288 runs at bat.
