  • PM Modi said in May that neither side will be a winner in the Russia-Ukraine war
  • If anyone can convince Moscow, it is India.
  • Another important aspect of this visit is to strengthen India’s defense.

Russia Ukraine WarIt has been 6 months since the Russo-Ukraine war, meanwhile, India’s NSA (NSA) Ajit Doval reached Moscow on Tuesday. A picture of him with Russian officials has also surfaced, which has not been liked by the US and Ukraine. It is being speculated that Doval may try to persuade Ukraine and Russia to “peace out” in the war. Doval met his Russian counterpart Nikolai Petrushev on Wednesday. So far, no concrete information has come out about his meeting with Russian President Putin whether he will meet Putin or not.

A media report quoted sources as saying that European countries like America, France and Germany believe that if anyone can convince Moscow, it is India. Ukraine is pressuring President Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to a ceasefire and start talks with Russia for a deal. According to the report, India is seeing this as a big opportunity because if it is successful in implementing the ceasefire, then its acceptance in Europe will increase significantly.

Important journey for India

Another important aspect of this visit is to strengthen India’s defence, which is very important for India’s defense preparedness. India is concerned about the sanctions imposed on Russia after the attack on Ukraine and its impact on supplies. During his meeting with Nikolai Petrushev, Ajit Doval held talks on bilateral, regional and global issues. The two sides discussed issues relating to bilateral cooperation in the areas of security as well as topical issues under the regional and international agenda.

Ukraine had appealed to the Prime Minister of India

The Ukrainian envoy to India in February urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene to help stop Putin and condemn his attack on Ukraine. Igor Polikha said that India should make full use of its global power. PM Modi is a global leader. India has good relations with Russia. I don’t know how many leaders Putin will listen to but I am sure he will listen to Prime Minister Modi’s voice.

Prime Minister had said this thing

PM Modi said in May that no side will be victorious in the Russia-Ukraine war, all will be defeated. He had said that peace and dialogue is the only way to resolve the ongoing conflict between the countries. However, India has not yet condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. India stands by its statement that the crisis should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue. Ukraine, on the other hand, has strongly opposed Ajit Doval’s visit to Russia.

Ukraine objected

In response to a question, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that when India buys crude oil from Russia, they have to understand that the rebate will have to be paid with the blood of Ukraine. Ukraine has its fair share of blood in every barrel of Russian crude supplied to India. We are friendly and open to India. I supported the expulsion of Indian students. We expected more practical support to Ukraine from India.
