Ajinkya Rahane: West Zone scored a century against North East Zone on day two of the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal match. In this match which was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, not one or two, but three players scored centuries from the West Zone. Two double centuries are also included in these three centuries. In this game of centuries, the batsman who surprised everyone with his batting was Ajinkya Rahane, who showed his greatness at the crease in a style contrary to his nature.
First captain Prithvi Shaw scored a century
Prithvi Shaw was the first batsman to score a century for the West Zone. His century would have been fulfilled on the first day of the match but only 25 overs could be played due to the rain. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a double century
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was in the crease after scoring 55 runs to the stumps on the first day of the game, batted ferociously on the second day. West Zone captain Ajinkya Rahane came to the crease to support Prithvi Shaw after his dismissal. Together these two hit tremendously with a fast pace. Jaiswal scored 228 runs on 321 balls that included three sixes with 22 fours. During this, he also made a memorable 333-run partnership with Rahane.

In this match, captain Ajinkya Rahane started his innings with a very aggressive style, contrary to his mood. After reaching the crease, he began the innings exactly the same way Prithvi Shaw had left them. His aggression is evident by the fact that he’s also hit six sixes in his innings thus far. On the second day to the stumps, captain Rahane was ready in the crease after scoring 207 runs from 264 balls with a strike rate of 78.40 and Rahul Tripathi supported him with 25 runs.
West Zone have scored 590 runs after losing just two wickets in this match after two days of play. In this one-sided match, the Northeast Zone has found nothing positive to find so far.
