Ajinkya Rahane can become the team captain in the first test match against New Zealand

The BCCI may announce the Indian team for the two-game test series to be played against New Zealand starting November 25 on Friday. The first test match will be played in Kanpur from November 25, while the second match will be held in Mumbai. The usual captain of the India team, Virat Kohli, will not play in this match. In such a situation, Ajinkya Rahane can receive the captaincy of the team. If the sources are to be believed, he is almost determined to become Rahane’s captain for this match. It may soon be officially announced by the BCCI.

The selectors have decided that Rahane will be selected as captain. Actually Virat Kohli will not play in the Kanpur test match, he has taken a break from this match. This is the reason why there is a discussion about the captaincy. Although Rohit Sharma also raced in the captaincy race in the first match, Rahane will likely have a chance because before going to Australia without 7/8 first-team players, he had given the team a historic victory.

The way he led the team to victory during the crisis in Australia, the selectors are deciding to hand over the captaincy to Rahane. It is also believed that Coach Rahul Dravid is also very fond of Rahane, so Rahane may be given the responsibility of the captaincy in Virat’s absence in the first match of the Test series. However, from the second test match in Mumbai, Virat will once again be the team captain.
