Kajol’s latest film, “Maa,” is set to release soon, and the trailer has just been launched in Mumbai. The film, produced by Ajay Devgn, features Kajol as a mother trying to save her daughter from dark forces. At the trailer launch, Kajol and Ajay were asked about their thoughts on actresses who have become new mothers and are now demanding shorter working hours.
Kajol thinks it’s a great idea for new mothers to work shorter hours. “I think it’s wonderful that you can work for a shorter duration,” she says. Ajay agrees, stating that most people in the film industry understand the needs of new mothers. “If an actress has become a mother, she should start working in shifts of eight hours. People in the industry will definitely understand this,” he says.
This topic has been in the news lately, thanks to Deepika Padukone, who had demanded a six-hour shift while working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Spirit.” The film eventually replaced her with Triptii Dimri, sparking controversy on social media. Both Vanga and Padukone have since spoken out about the issue without directly naming each other.
Kajol’s film “Maa” also features Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta and is set to release on June 27, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.
