AirPods are available for teenagers ages 12 to 17 who have been vaccinated in Washington. To encourage younger people to go through the vaccine box, the US capital is also offering a $51 gift card. dollars, a headset or an iPad.
In recent weeks, Washington DC has seen an increase in coronavirus cases in its territory. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 128 Washington residents hire Covid-19 on average every day. By early July, that rate had dropped to less than 100 patients a day.
To boost the vaccination campaign, Muriel Bowser, mayor of Washington, now proposes a series of rewards for 12 to 17 year olds. Convinced that the virus doesn’t really concern them, the younger ones are obviously taking a long time to get vaccinated. Despite this, Washington already has 70% of those vaccinated on its soil.
Washington Offers A Pair Of AirPods For Vaccinated Youth
To encourage younger people, the municipality is offering a pair of AirPods (the standard version obviously) for teenagers who go to one of the three vaccination posts compatible with the action. Offer is only valid for teenagers who receive their first dose and who present a student ID card in particular.
Once the AirPods are out of stock, Washington will offer a $51 gift card to young people who have been vaccinated. The adult accompanying the minor will also leave with a voucher. This voucher is limited to one child per family. Finally, all vaccinated adolescents are invited to participate in a big draw. This giveaway allows you to win a $25,000 scholarship as first prize. The scholarship will allow the winner to fund their higher education. The consolation prizes are an iPad and headphones.
Washington is not the only state in the United States to offer rewards to citizens who are vaccinated. Many states, including Maryland, Michigan and Ohio, have established a lottery system that allows you to walk away with a multi-thousand-dollar envelope.
