Air traffic control system suspended at Kabul airport, Afghan officials say

KARACHI: US forces have stopped providing air traffic control services at Kabul airport, Afghan officials said.

According to foreign media, despite the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, the security and arrangements of Kabul airport were taken over by US military personnel.

However, now that the Afghan capital, Kabul, has no air traffic control, US forces have stopped providing air traffic control services at Kabul airport.

Afghan officials have issued a notice stating that there is no air traffic controller at the airport, stating that ATC and airport services are not available in Afghanistan’s airspace.

Afghan officials in Nottingham say the last US plane to leave Afghanistan is for transport, and that flights to and from Kabul should take extreme measures.
