The video is widely claimed to be a deepfake, generated using artificial intelligence technology. This incident highlights a disturbing trend within the industry.
It is not the first time prominent Bhojpuri actresses have been targeted by such unauthorized video leaks. Several leading figures have previously faced similar public humiliation. These incidents have often involved denials from the actresses and legal action against those responsible.
Akshara Singh, one of Bhojpuri cinema’s most popular stars, faced an alleged MMS leak in 2022. She vehemently denied the video’s authenticity, calling it a conspiracy to damage her reputation. Singh filed a police complaint, asserting that individuals who exploit women’s dignity should be punished. Many celebrities and fans publicly supported her stance.
In 2021, Trishakar Madhu’s alleged MMS video caused a significant social media uproar. She tearfully stated in a live broadcast that a close associate had leaked her private video. Madhu expressed that her career and life had been ruined by the incident. The case remained in the media spotlight for several weeks. Police initiated an investigation, but the perpetrator was never identified. Following the ordeal, Madhu largely withdrew from public appearances for an extended period.
Priyanka Pandit also experienced an alleged MMS video circulating online shortly after Trishakar Madhu’s incident. While many claimed the woman in the video was Pandit, she publicly clarified it was not her. Pandit stated that someone resembling her was depicted, and her name was intentionally dragged into the controversy to defame her. She filed a complaint with cybercrime authorities against those behind the fake video.
Another actress, Shilpi Raj, was embroiled in a similar alleged MMS controversy in 2022. The video quickly gained traction online, with many attributing it to her. Raj later clarified in an interview that she was not the person in the video. She stated that her name was being misused.
Veteran actress Sambhavna Seth also faced an alleged video leak in 2016, sparking considerable public commotion. Seth promptly took to social media to declare the video entirely false. She claimed that her name had been added through editing. Seth emphasized her career was built on hard work, and such fabricated videos could not undermine her identity. She subsequently pursued legal action, filing a defamation lawsuit.
