In a statement released on social media, Ashraf Ghani explained the reason for his trip abroad and said that he left Afghanistan to stop the bloody floods in Kabul.
“If he had lived in the country, countless patriotic citizens would have been martyred and Kabul would have been destroyed, a great human catastrophe,” he said.
“I have spent 20 years protecting and caring for Afghanistan. I have made the difficult decision to leave my beloved country,” Ghani said.
According to the Afghan and British media, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who recently resigned the presidency, left Afghanistan and arrived in Tajikistan.
The Tajikistan media have also confirmed the arrival of Ashraf Ghani. According to the Tajikistan media, Hamdullah Mohib and KDG from the presidential office have also arrived in Tajikistan together with Ashraf Ghani.
The Executive Director of the Afghan government, Abdullah Abdullah, also confirmed that Ashraf Ghani had left Afghanistan and said that the people of Afghanistan should remain calm.
