On the one hand, the Indian team suffered a crushing defeat against South Africa in the Centurion Test, but on the other hand, India’s junior team i.e. India-A is performing well in South Africa. Not only had India-A played brilliantly in the first unofficial Test of the South Africa tour, they now had the upper hand in the second game too. However, both tests ended in a draw.

This second unofficial Test between India-A and South Africa-A began on December 26. In this four-day Test match, the Indian bowlers first defeated the South African batsmen by 263 runs and later took a good lead by scoring 327 runs for 6 wickets. However, due to rain, the match was largely lost and the Indian players had to settle for a draw.

In this match, while Indian fast bowler Avesh Khan created havoc in the first innings, three Indian batsmen scored half-centuries in the second innings. Tilak Verma, Dhruv Jurel and Akshar Patel played strong innings here.

In this match, India A captain Abhimanyu Easwaran won the toss and chose to bowl first. Here Avesh Khan destroyed the South African batting power by taking 5 wickets for 54 runs. Akshar Patel also picked up two wickets here. Navdeep Saini and Washington Sundar also got a wicket each.

After South Africa’s innings was bundled at 263 runs, Team India’s start wasn’t very good either. All four top-order batsmen failed to play big innings. Easwaran (18), Sai Sudarshan (30), Rajat Patidar (33) and Sarfaraz Khan (34) quickly returned to the pavilion. After losing four wickets for 140 runs, Tilak Verma and Dhruv Jurail formed a 103-run partnership to save the Indian team. Here, Tilak Verma returned to the pavilion after scoring 50 runs off 169 balls. After that, the wicket of Dhruv Jurail (69) fell in the total of 292 runs. Akshar Patel (50) and Washington Sundar (9) remained unbeaten.
