Earlier this week, various news reported that Apple would be working on a new MacBook Air model that with a larger 15-inch screen could win over many users.

But now the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has made his predictions on the social network Twitter and says that the new model will not be part of the Air series, having not advanced any name for the laptop in question.

The well-known analyst gives some more details, namely that the new model will arrive next year. He also goes on to say that even though a larger screen consumes more power, Apple wants this new laptop to use the same 30-watt adapter as the Air model.

For the rest, Ming-Chi Kuo also says that mass production of the new equipment will start in the fourth quarter of next year, if everything goes as planned by Apple.

Although not part of the Air series, the new model may use the MacBook designation, not least because Apple has already used the name only for other laptops outside of the Air and Pro lines. In fact, it was only in 2019 that the The Cupertino company has stopped releasing new MacBook models, the latest being the 12-inch MacBook.

In this sense, there is a good chance that the brand will “go back in time” and recover the designation of MacBook only for a new portable model that does not fall within the Air or Pro series.

The idea gains more traction when it was also recently reported that Apple could rename its A15 Bionic chip to A16 to keep the processor in line with its upgrades and integrate it into the upcoming iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.
