Major Noida. Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) franchise UP Yoddha has signed its first player of African descent into Kenyan raider James Namaba Kamweti ahead of season eight. Kamveti was chosen as the best raider at the 2021 Bangabandhu Cup international tournament in March. Seeing his performance, UP Yoddha added him to his team.
The Kenyan player hopes to play in the Indian league and called it an important milestone in his career. Kamveti said: “It is very important for me to be part of the UP Yoddha team at PKL. Kabaddi lacks such an important league and being a part of PKL will definitely help me improve my game further and at the same time have the opportunity to show my talents in front of new audiences. I look forward to an exciting and enjoyable PKL session with UP Yoddha. ”
