Afghanistan to Receive Massive Funding Despite Semi-Finals Loss

Afghanistan Cricket Team: The Afghan team made a remarkable run in the T20 World Cup, despite a crushing defeat against South Africa in the semi-finals. Although their batsmen failed to impress, the team’s overall performance was exceptional, earning them praise from fans and experts alike.

The team’s journey was marked by impressive victories against strong teams like New Zealand, Australia, and Bangladesh. Their group stage win against New Zealand was particularly notable, as they secured a place in the Super-8 round with victories over Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Against teams like Australia and India, Afghanistan proved all the odds wrong, reaching the semi-finals for the first time.

This achievement is a significant milestone for a team like Afghanistan, and they will receive a substantial prize money of Rs 7.84 crore for their performance in the tournament. The ICC will distribute a total of $11.25 million as prize money, with the team losing in the semi-finals receiving Rs 6.55 crore.

However, their semi-final match against South Africa was a disappointing one, as they were bowled out for just 56 runs after winning the toss. South Africa chased the target in just 8.5 overs, wrapping up the match with ease. Despite the loss, the Afghanistan team’s performance in the tournament will be remembered for a long time.
