Withdrawal from the United States on August 31

Taliban.

After the attack, NATO and the European Union called for the evacuations to continue anyway, but the United States pledged to respect the deadline. Several countries have therefore announced that they have ended their evacuations, in particular France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Canada. Several hundred Afghans eligible for repatriation to Western countries were thus unable to leave.

Emmanuel Macron therefore announced on Saturday evening to discuss jointly with the Taliban and Qatar to be able to continue the evacuations of Afghans threatened and trapped in Kabul.
