Stuck in Afghanistan, where they spent their summer vacation, members of one family nearly remained imprisoned after the Taliban arrived. They finally returned to Lyon (Rhône) on the night of September 13th.
Relief is present in the Rahimi family, finally back home. For days, the husband, wife and three children believed they would remain stranded in Afghanistan. Originally from the country, they came to spend their summer vacation there, before the Taliban took power. Finally, the family managed to return and arrived on September 13 at Gare de Lyon Part Dieu (Rhône), at 11 pm.
Departing in a hurry, the family only arrived with some luggage. “We are very happy to be there”, explains the father. Everyone is exhausted after three particularly intense days of travel. On July 22, this Lyonnais merchant and his three children, of French nationality, as well as his Afghan wife, went to visit the family in Kabul. After days of anguish, the family managed to board the first international flight, the air bridge established by the Americans.
