Forty-nine French nationals and members of their families were on board the evacuation flight from Kabul to Doha this Friday, September 10, the second since the end of the Western airlift and the departure of the Americans from Afghanistan at the end of August.
This evacuation operation “allows our compatriots and their dependents to join Qatar”, announced the French Foreign Ministry in a press release, thanking the Qatari authorities for their “decisive help”.

These nationals will then be brought back to Paris – at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport – on a flight chartered by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The French government remains “fully mobilized to ensure new evacuations as soon as possible” of nationals who remain in place or of Afghans threatened by the Taliban, added the Quai d’Orsay.
