According to media reports, among the fugitives is Afghan General and former Vice President Rashid Dostum, who fled to Uzbekistan before the Taliban took control of Kabul.
Rashid Dostum, a fellow commander who fled to Uzbekistan, is called Atta Muhammad. Atta Muhammad says that the downfall of Mazar-e-Sharif was made possible by a conspiracy.
On the other hand, the video of Taliban fighters entering Rashid Dostum’s palace house is going viral on the internet.
Earlier today, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned from office. Shortly after his resignation, he also left Afghanistan. Later, a senior Afghan Interior Ministry official also confirmed that Ashraf Ghani had arrived in Tajikistan.
Tajik media also confirmed the arrival of Ashraf Ghani, saying that together with Ashraf Ghani, Hamdullah Mohib and KDG from the presidential office they have also arrived in Tajikistan.
Afghan television also claims that close associates of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani have left the country.
