AES Dominicana delivers carbon credit certificates to 42 companies

The Dominican Republic recognized, in an unprecedented event, 42 of the most important companies and industries in the country for having offset, through the use of carbon neutral Natural Gas, some 134, 512 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).

In a special act, AES Dominicana delivered certificates of carbon credits to companies, as well as to government authorities, through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in this case for the emissions offset in the use of vehicular natural gas equivalent to 19 , 570 tons of CO2.

Edwin De los Santos, president of AES Dominicana highlighted that the companies receiving carbon credit certificates create a milestone and place themselves at the forefront of the latest international standards, exhibiting tangible and measurable progress in terms of sustainability, thereby contributing to accelerate the future of energy.

The recognized companies received carbon neutral Natural Gas through the five distribution clients of AES Dominicana: Linea Clave, Tropigás Natural, Soluciones en Gas Natural, Platergas and Propagas (Natgas).

The companies that received carbon credit certifications are Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Casa Brugal, Distribuidora Corripio Corripio, Gerdau Metaldom, César Iglesias, Marcasid, Bepensa Dominicana, Induveca, Nestlé Dominicana, Molinos Modernos, Envases Antillanos, PepsiCo, Gildan and Industria Cartonera Dominicana .

Likewise, Global Pack, Hotel Catalonia, Promotora Dominicana del Caribe, Kingtom Aluminio, Cartones del Caribe, PB Hotel, Corvi Acero, Kinnox, Hotel Riu República, Milk Agro, Velas Hispaniolas, Isotex Dominicana, CH Alimentos Internacional, Grupo Inversiones Lunar, Almafrío and Mercaplas

AES Dominicana delivers the carbon credit certificates to the aforementioned companies after the country received the first Carbon Neutral Natural Gas ship on July 22 of this year, creating a highly relevant precedent regarding the use of a fuel with less impact. environmental.
