Adyen launches its Android point of sale terminals

Adyen, a global payment platform, has announced the launch of its Android mobile point of sale (mPOS) terminals in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. These devices represent a fundamental change in the role of payment terminals, functioning as an all-in-one solution and eliminating the need for additional cash registers, scanners and screens.

In addition, these terminals come with a app management system that allows merchants to load and manage the applications they use every day to manage their inventory, loyalty programs, returns and other functionalities. The launch of these multi-purpose terminals will not only reduce the cost of the hardware, but also help companies to improve their user experiences tremendously.

Among the first brands that are deploying the use of these new POS terminals are the provider of digital services in flight Imfly and provider of management and sales solutions for transport and tourism Pallysis. “It is key for businesses to be able to offer their customers better experiences, and these terminals help them achieve this, reducing waiting times and streamlining operations. ” it states Juan José Llorente, Country Manager of Adyen in Spain and Portugal. The possibility of managing inventory management, loyalty or returns applications directly from the mobile terminal simply simplifies business operations “and at the same time affects the perception of the user experience”.

Consumers want to buy their products, tickets or drinks without having to wait in line. Existing mobile POS solutions typically require multiple hardware devices to function. But our all-in-one Android terminals combine the flexibility of the Android platform with the security of a PCI certified payment terminal. They support countless use cases, and both Immfly and Palisis are great examples of how this solution offers enhanced functionality and mobility to merchants and their staff..
