Adrián Beltré delivers a completely remodeled baseball field

Former Major League Baseball player Adrián Beltré Pérez made a formal delivery to the Santo Domingo Savio School Home of the sports complex located at kilometer 11 ½ of the Sánchez de Santo Domingo Highway, National District, a work received with great joy.

 As a gesture of appreciation and gratitudeto the place where he formally began his sporting activity, the star baseball player Adrián Beltré assumed the task of remodeling, readjusting, and renovating the baseball field of the Santo Domingo Savio Home School.

 Since 1955, the Santo Domingo Savio School Home has welcomed children and adolescents at high risk. Later, the Salesians gave life to the Youth Center Oratory, an open space on weekends for children, adolescents from the community of 12 de Haina, Kilometer 11 and surrounding areas. It is in this context that in 1994 the young Adrián Beltré, a member of one of the sports leagues that operates at the Hogar Escuela, was signed as a professional baseball player.

 The remodeling works have included the rehabilitation of the filters, the total replacement of the grass, the reconditioning of the dogauts, the construction of the perimeter fence, the rehabilitation and improvement of the irrigation system of the field, the construction of a grandstand with attached bathrooms , the reconditioning of the external areas.

 This initiative of the stellar Adrián Beltré will positively impact the more than 1,200 students of the Santo Domingo Savio School Home, as well as more than 600 children and adolescents who during the weekends carry out sports activities organized by the educational center through the sports leagues.

 For the Santo Domingo Savio School Home, this donation is a commitment to education and evangelization in favor of the poorest, and an endorsement in favor of sports and recreation. It is also an occasion to thank, in the person of Adrián Beltré, all those friends of the Salesian work, who throughout these 66 years of history have seen in this institution not only a recreation space but also a house that it has opened the doors to opportunities for success.

 Adrián Beltré Pérez, is a Dominican player who played in the Major Leagues for the Texas Rangers (2009-2018), Los Angeles Dodgers (1998-2004), the Seattle Mariners (2005-2009), the Boston Red Sox (2010) and the Texas Rangers from 2011 until his retirement in 2018. He was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame.
