Adames hits two home runs and Brewers beat Reds 10-5

Willy Adames hit two of his team’s six home runs, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 10-5 on Thursday.

Mexican Luis Urías, Christian Yelich, Tyrone Taylor and Keston Hiura had the other homers for Milwaukee, which recorded its eighth victory in nine games.

Yelich finished with three hits and three runs, while Adames drove in four runs.

Brewers right-hander Adrian Houser (3-2) allowed five runs, four earned, and seven hits in five innings.

Cincinnati posted its ninth straight loss at the end of a six-game road trip without a win. The Reds, the worst team in the Major Leagues, have lost 20 games in 21 games.

Tyler Stephenson homered and drove in two runs, but Cincinnati was unable to overcome another shaky performance by rookie pitcher Hunter Greene (1-4), a fastball specialist.

Urías and Yelich homered off Greene in the first inning, and Rowdy Tellez tied it 3-3 with an RBI double.

Adames capped Milwaukee’s three-run drive in the second inning with a two-run homer to left-center field.

For the Brewers, the Mexican Luis Urías 4-1, one scored, one produced. Willy Adames 4-2, three runs scored, 4 RBIs. The Venezuelan Omar Narvaez 2-0.

For the Reds, the Mexican Alejo López 1-0.
