Tabu Refuses to Play Younger Roles
In a recent interview with News 18, Tabu, who is 52 years old, expressed her disapproval of digitally reducing an actor’s age. She stated that reducing an actor’s age seems like a drama, especially when the audience knows their actual age. Tabu prefers to play characters her own age, believing that it looks better in the context of the film.
Cast of Young Actors Adds Realism
In the movie, Tabu and Ajay Devgan play the roles of middle-aged lovers who reconnect after 22 years. Their younger versions are played by Shantanu Maheshwari and Sai Manjrekar. Tabu expressed her satisfaction with the decision to cast young actors instead of digitally reducing their age. She believes it adds realism to the film.
Tabu’s Thoughts on De-Aging Actors
Tabu pointed out that this trend of casting actors as their younger selves has been going on for a while, even before the concept of de-aging existed. She stated that actors used to play the younger versions of themselves, and with "Auron Mein Kahaan Dum Tha", they are taking this trend forward.
No Desire to Play Young Female Characters
In the interview, Tabu also mentioned that she no longer wants to play young female characters on screen. When asked if she gets such offers, she replied that she will refuse them, as she has accepted her age and believes it’s important to play characters that are true to oneself.
