Actress Sangeeta Bijlani is still reeling from a terrifying event that happened at her farmhouse in Pune three months ago. The incident has left her feeling deeply unsafe. She’s now speaking out about her concerns and what she’s doing to feel secure again.
Sangeeta recently met with Pune Rural Police Superintendent Sandeep Singh Gill. She wanted an update on the investigation into the break-in at her property. Citing her safety worries, Sangeeta has also applied for a gun license. Unknown individuals had broken into her farmhouse a few months earlier.
The Chilling Incident
The break-in happened back in July. Vandals damaged household items like the refrigerator, TV set, and furniture. They even drew obscene pictures on the walls. According to police, the intruders also took 50,000 rupees in cash and a television worth 7,000 rupees. Sangeeta told PTI that she has lived there for two decades. Pavana has always felt like home to her. It has been three and a half months since the awful theft, and there are still no leads, which she finds incredibly frustrating.
SP Gill has promised Sangeeta that the police will get to the bottom of the matter. He assured her they would find and catch those responsible.
A Deep Sense of Insecurity
Sangeeta shared how truly frightening the theft and break-in were. Luckily, she wasn’t there when it happened. Seeing obscene things written and drawn on the walls inside her home was unsettling. Pavana is home to many residents, including families and older people. Security has become a major concern for everyone. This incident at her farmhouse has left the entire community feeling unsafe.
Seeking Self-Defense
For the first time in her life, Sangeeta Bijlani feels the need to carry a weapon for self-defense. She explains that after this incident, she requested a gun license from the Pune Rural Police. As a woman, if she goes to her home alone, she believes some form of security is essential. She had never felt the need for a gun license before. However, this is the first time she feels so insecure. Sangeeta hopes officials will take strong actions and speed up the investigation. She wants them to restore confidence among the people living in the area.
