Actress Gehana Vasisth has filed a complaint against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap at Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station. She claims his recent comments about Brahmins were offensive. Vasisth is demanding that the police register a formal complaint, known as an FIR.
The actress isn’t the only one speaking out against Kashyap. Payal Ghosh recently took to social media to urge Kashyap to stay away from Bollywood, saying the industry is better off without him. Vasisth also questioned Kashyap’s choice of words, criticizing him for being disrespectful to the Brahmin community. She pointed out that if he had made similar comments about other communities, he would have faced severe backlash.
Calls for Action Against Anurag Kashyap
Vasisth expressed her disappointment with Kashyap’s statement, saying it was unacceptable. She added that if someone from another community had made a similar comment, there would have been a strong reaction by now. A complaint has also been filed against Kashyap in Delhi’s Anand Vihar police station by a man named Sachin Sharma.
Sharma’s complaint letter condemned Kashyap’s derogatory remarks against Brahmins on social media. The letter highlighted the significant contributions Brahmins have made to Indian culture, education, and religion. Sharma requested that Kashyap be charged and an FIR be registered against him for his comments, which he believes hurt the sentiments of the Brahmin community and threatened social harmony.
