Tamil television actress Manya Anand has accused Shreyas, the manager of superstar Dhanush, of casting couch. The allegations detail multiple attempts to solicit “commitments” in exchange for film roles.
Anand publicly shared her experience during an interview with Cineulagam. She stated that Shreyas initially contacted her about a new film project. During their discussion, he suggested a “commitment” was required.
The actress questioned the nature of this commitment. She explicitly refused any unethical conditions proposed by the manager.
Following her refusal, Shreyas reportedly pressured her further. He allegedly asked, “You won’t listen to Dhanush sir, even though you are his?” This implied a connection to the acclaimed actor.
Manya Anand revealed that Shreyas continued to contact her multiple times. He even sent her a script despite her initial rejection of his advances.
She did not read the script and ultimately refused to participate in the film. Anand made a strong statement regarding industry practices.
“We are artists, we are doing some other work,” Anand said. “You take work from us, but cannot expect something else in return.”
She added, “If we accept your demands, our name will be something else. I think it would be better for people to recognize and resolve this trend.”
Manya Anand is a well-known figure in Tamil television. She is particularly recognized for her role in the popular series ‘Vaanathai Pola’.
