Actor Sameer Khakkar has died, he was famous for playing the role of a drunk in the series Nukkad

The renowned film and television actor Sameer Khakkar is no longer with us. He has passed away at the age of 71. Sameer Khakkar is known for playing the famous character ‘Khopdi’, an alcoholic, in Doordarshan’s popular serial Nukkad (1986) in the 1980s. Sameer Khakkad’s brother Ganesh Khakkad confirmed Sameer’s death while speaking to ABP News.

Sameer Khakkar’s brother, Ganesh Khakkar, also gave information about the reasons for the actor’s death. He said Sameer Khakkar had difficulty breathing and his health had been deteriorating in recent days. Yesterday afternoon, he entered the MM Hospital, Borivali, when he had respiratory problems, where he fainted and was admitted to the ICU, later he died at 4:30 am today due to multiple organ failure, his last rites will be performed at the Babhai Naka Crematorium in Borivali.

Tell them Sameer Khakkar used to live alone in IC Colony, Borivali, Mumbai. Sameer Khakkar’s wife lives in the United States. For Sameer’s last rites, her body will be taken to the nearby crematorium at 10 am. He was last seen in the recently released Amazon Prime series ‘Farzi’.

Sameer was a part of various TV shows and movies in the 38 years of his acting career. The actor took a short break from show business and settled in the United States. Later, he made a comeback and also did two Gujarati plays and rose to fame for the role of him in Salman Khan’s Jai Ho. Sameer also worked on series like Manoranjan, Circus (with Shah Rukh Khan). Sameer did movies like ‘Parinda’, ‘Eena Meena Deeka’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’, ‘Return of Jewel Thief’, ‘Awwal Number’, ‘Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai’, ‘Hum Hain Kamal’ also played character roles in many movies like ‘K’.
