Activision: Ricochet Bans 97% Black Ops 7 Beta Cheaters Under 30 Mins

Activision recently made a bold promise about its new anti-cheat system, Ricochet. They claim it can spot and ban cheaters in record time. During the recent Call of Duty Black Ops 7 beta, the company stated it took only 30 minutes to kick rule-breakers out of the game.

The folks at Activision were fully expecting cheaters to sneak into the Open Beta. They shared this information in a recent post on the Call of Duty Blog. Their updated Ricochet system now works with TPM 2.0 for stricter checks. This new method led to much faster action. Most cheaters couldn’t even get into a match. Activision reported that over 97% of those caught were banned within that half-hour timeframe.

Even with Activision sounding so sure, many players remain unconvinced. They point out that the system still needs help from player reports. PC Gamer noticed some comments on X (formerly Twitter) that questioned the 97% figure. Some users suggested these were not new detections but rather cheaters Activision already had on their radar. This sparked doubts about how truly effective the new detection system is.

Everyone will be watching closely when the full game launches. It remains to be seen if Ricochet can live up to Activision’s claims. Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is set to arrive on November 14th. You can play it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
