A major esports event is gearing up for 2026, bringing together top talent in the popular game VALORANT. Acer and Intel are teaming up to host the Thailand Predator League 2026. The goal is to find one outstanding Thai team to represent the nation at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2026 Grand Final in India. There, teams from across the Asia Pacific region will compete for a significant prize.
Acer has been a steady force in growing the local esports scene, according to Mr. Jeff Lee, Managing Director of Acer Computer (Thailand) Co., Ltd. He explained that the Predator League started in 2018. Since then, it has become a key stage for local players to reach regional events. It also gives new generations a place to find and build their skills. This includes not just players, but also fans and the folks working behind the scenes.
Mr. Lee shared that the Predator League is more than just a contest. He described it as a system that creates energy, fresh ideas, and good chances for skilled people. This applies to both Thailand and the wider region. Acer hopes the Thailand Predator League 2026 will be another big step. The aim is to help the local esports industry grow strong and lasting in every way. The choice of VALORANT as the main game shows its success here. Over the past four years, Thai teams have gone to world events like the Champions Tour many times. This proves their strong skill and fan base. Online viewers have also shown huge support, connecting the gaming community.
Mr. Nithipat Praweenwongwut, Marketing Director at Acer Computer Co., Ltd., highlighted the continued growth of esports in the region. He noted that the Predator League also helps develop new talent. This happens through the Esports Internship Program. Acer works with Sripatum University and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Students get to learn how real events are put together. They even get a chance to see the Asia-level tournament in India.
This year, Acer is expanding its efforts. They are working with the Thai Esports Association for Persons with Disabilities. This partnership gives people with disabilities full roles in organizing the competition. They will handle technical tasks, create content, manage events, and even support competing teams. The event will make sure its setup and gear fit everyone’s needs. This effort helps build job skills and promotes equality. It shows that esports truly welcomes everyone. It should inspire players, students, and people with disabilities. They can see how they can grow and take part in the future of esports.
Esports is also making big moves on the international stage. Its inclusion as a medal sport in the SEA Games 2025 is a major milestone. It shows how much the sport is recognized and loved across Southeast Asia. This lifts esports from a fun hobby to an officially recognized professional sport. As the host nation, this will be a big moment for Thailand. It creates a stage for local players to compete against regional teams. It also helps promote and build the esports industry for the long run. This includes how competitions are set up, training for staff, and building a strong community of gamers. It’s a key step for the region’s leadership in esports.
