Acaz Fellegger, former advisor to Scolari, passed away at 59 years old

The football community is mourning the loss of Acaz Fellegger, a respected figure who worked for years as an advisor to legendary coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. Fellegger passed away this Friday at 59 years old, after a battle with cancer. The sad news came directly from his wife, Patrícia Mendes, who shared her heartbreak.

Patrícia Mendes spoke movingly on social media about her husband. She wrote, “It is with much regret, and much sadness, that I inform you about the passing of my life partner, Acaz Fellegger. He was a warrior! I ask for prayers so that his passing may be of much light.” Her words paint a picture of a man who fought bravely until the very end.

Fellegger’s career journey began in the early 1990s as a journalist. His path took a significant turn in 1997 when he became the press advisor for Palmeiras. This is where he first crossed paths with Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was then leading the “Verdão” squad. Their connection formed a bond that would last decades.

Even after leaving the club, Fellegger remained a trusted confidant and partner to Scolari, a manager who later coached the Portugal national team. He took his expertise and founded his own communication company. Through this venture, he became a guiding force for many top athletes, helping them navigate the demanding world of professional sports.

His client list was truly impressive, featuring some of the biggest names in football. Fellegger provided counsel to stars like Deco, Hulk, Daniel Alves, and Raphael Veiga. He was a behind-the-scenes maestro, quietly shaping careers and managing reputations for a generation of talent.
