AC Milan have booked a 2-0 home win over the last of the Serie A Salernitana, which suffered its fifth loss in six matches. Milan will thus temporarily take over the lead from Napoli, which will be visited by number four Atalanta tonight.
Milan dominated from the start and that resulted in two goals before half time. Franck Kessié, after a good job by Rafael Leão, found the far corner from close by and Alexis Saelemaekers scored with a watched shot.
Saelemaekers dedicated his goal to his Danish teammate Simon Kjaer, who recently had to end his season due to a serious knee injury.
In the continuation of the one-sided game, Milan had numerous opportunities to increase the margin. Brahim Díaz got a handful and Rade Krunic, Kessié (before half time), Junior Messias and Sandro Tonali (after half time) were also close to a third Milan goal.
Tonight Napoli will play against Atalanta at 9 p.m.
