AC Milan remain interested in Jonathan David: Lille set their price

Although the transfer market is currently on hold, AC Milan already have one important goal in mind: strengthening their squad in future editions. The name echoing in the halls of the San Siro is that of Canadian striker Jonathan David, who currently plays in the ranks of Lille. However, the French club have made it clear that they won’t let their star go for less than €60m.

Despite spending more than €114m in last summer’s market, AC Milan are determined to keep improving their squad. One of the main goals is to find a new centre-forward who can take over from Olivier Giroud who, aged 36, may be in his last season at the club.

Despite Luka Jovic’s arrival in the closing stages of the summer market, AC Milan are still looking for a solution at the forward position. As Gazzetta dello Sport reports, Jonathan David has become the Rossoneri’s favorite target. The 23-year-old Canadian has demonstrated his talent, speed and goalscoring abilities in his three seasons with Lille, scoring an impressive 61 goals in 142 official games.

David has a contract with Lille until June 2025, which gives him a high profile in the transfer market. His current appraisal is around €60m, although that figure may vary depending on his performance this season and interest from other clubs.

AC Milan are ready to make significant investments to secure Jonathan David’s services but will have to compete with other teams interested in the Canadian striker. The battle for his transfer is set to intensify when the transfer market reopens and the fate of the young goalscorer remains uncertain as the season progresses.
