Milan has finally landed their desired target for the attack. Victor Boniface is heading to the Rossoneri, no doubt about it. The deal sees Milan paying Bayer Leverkusen 5 million euros for a loan. This loan runs until the end of the current season. However, there is a mandatory purchase clause built into the agreement. That clause is set at 24 million euros. All signs point to the Nigerian forward staying at San Siro until 2030. It’s a significant commitment from the Italian giants.
Before everything is official, there’s one last crucial step: the medical exams. They are scheduled for this Friday. These tests are causing a bit of a nervous wait for fans and officials alike. Boniface faced muscle problems in his left thigh last season. That’s a key reason for the concern. In January, a transfer to Saudi football completely fell apart. It was precisely because he failed his physical tests there.
Even with that history, Milan’s management is still optimistic. They expect the exams to go smoothly. It helps that Boniface returned to play the final stretch of last season with Bayer. He clearly showed he was back in action. The Nigerian striker first made a name for himself at Bodo/Glimt and then St. Gilloise. He joined Leverkusen in 2023 and became a major force. During his time there, he scored 32 goals and provided 11 assists in just 60 games. That kind of production is exactly what Milan is banking on.
