Abinader will participate in the meeting of the National Salary Committee

After maintaining a long day of dialogue this Wednesday, the National Wage Committee (CNS) awaits the arrival of President Luis Abinader, to announce the conclusions of today’s meeting.

The president is scheduled to attend at 5:00 in the afternoon.

In the meeting started after 10:00 in the morning, lTrade unionists and the business sector debate the increase of the minimum wages of employees of sectorized private companies.

This is the sixth meeting held by the parties, where the confederations have requested a 35% increase from the business community, without them having refuted their proposal.

This meeting takes place after on February 27, in his accountability speech, President Luis Abinader instructed the Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel De Camps, that through the committee convene a meeting with the parties, in order to achieve an increase in wages.

“I am instructing the Minister of Labor to convene the National Wage Committee in the coming days with the aim of achieving an increase in private sector wages that is above the accumulated inflation since the last increase,” Abinader said. .

At the meeting are members of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep); Employers Confederation of the Dominican Republic (Copardom); Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD); National Confederation of Trade Union Unity (CNUS); National Confederation of Dominican Workers (CNTD); Classist Autonomous Trade Union Confederation (CASC).

As well as the mediating party that presides over the Salary Committee of the Ministry of Labor.
