Abhay Deol has carved out a special place in the entertainment world, even with a career that some might call selective. He’s known for choosing roles carefully, and his performances always earn praise. But beyond his acting, Abhay often makes headlines for his candid opinions. Recently, he opened up about some truly personal decisions, touching on marriage and having children. His thoughts offer a fresh perspective on these big life choices.
Why I Wouldn’t Bring a Child to Earth
Abhay discussed these matters during a podcast chat with Dr. Jai Madaan. He revealed he doesn’t want children. He feels that if he were to settle down and start a family, he would prefer adoption over having biological children. He looks at the world and sincerely asks himself, “Why would I bring a child to this Earth?” While he enjoys being here, he believes our planet is already overloaded with a growing population. He thinks it’s important to try and avoid adding to that number. He strongly reiterated that he chooses not to have children, and if he did, he’d still question bringing one into the world we live in.
I Don’t Know What Kind of Father I’ll Be
The actor also shared his anxieties about becoming a parent. He’s unsure if he could truly do justice to the role. He wonders how he would manage his own feelings and what kind of emotions he would experience. Abhay suspects that if he had a child, he might become more controlling and possessive than he is right now. He explained that a strong sense of caring was nurtured within his family. However, managing his own emotions is a challenge. He worries he might lose his current easygoing, independent, and relaxed nature. Instead, he might become constantly stressed, overly protective, and demanding. He thought back to his own childhood, noting that he and his siblings were very protected. He fears he might pass this same intense protectiveness onto his own child.
Abhay Deol was last seen on screen earlier this year. He starred in the film ‘Bun Tikki’. The movie also featured acclaimed actors Shabana Azmi and Nushrratt Bharuccha in key roles.
