Dundee United’s final matchday celebration turned sour with a 2-1 win over Aberdeen, securing fourth place and a UEFA Europa League preliminary round spot. The game ended on a chaotic note, with Aberdeen’s Jack Mackenzie being hit by a chair thrown from the stands. The defender, who didn’t even play, was struck and left bloodied. Ironically, the chair came from the Aberdeen fans’ section.

Mackenzie was escorted off the field by security to receive medical attention. Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin condemned the incident, stating it was “unacceptable” and “can’t happen.” He emphasized that Mackenzie was “a player doing his job.”
