Cartagena’s Preseason Match Against Bournemouth U21 Ends in 2-0 Victory
Pinatar Arena, Spain – FC Cartagena experienced its first match in the Pinatar Arena against an English team, Bournemouth U21, and the sensations during the first 45 minutes were positive for Abelardo’s team. The team was calm, upright, and continually looking to get behind the opposing defense.
Despite the fact that the first half ended in a goalless draw, some players who had just arrived in Cartagena, such as Sergio Guerrero, had some very good minutes. In fact, the youth player of Athletic has been one of the most outstanding in the squad of Abelardo. Direct play and verticality have been the hallmarks of a modernized Cartagena for this new season.
Early Goals
Already in the second half, the team started in the best possible way. In an action on the wing, Cedric Teguia took out his forbidden steps to send a measured ball into the area so that Ortuño just had to push it. Surely, after a while, again Cedric tried to put it into the area but this time he couldn’t find a finisher.
In the following line, Martin made an individual play by band that would end up being rejected by the rival goalkeeper, Bald. He was alert and caught the rebound to add the second for the black and white -this time in pistachio green-.
