Aamir Khan is all set to return to the big screen with his highly anticipated film, “Sitare Zameen Par”. The movie has finally received a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts, sending a wave of excitement among Aamir’s fans.
The film’s journey to release was not without its hurdles. Initially, the CBFC suggested two changes to the film, leaving its release uncertain. However, Aamir and his team presented their case, emphasizing the thoughtful consideration that went into the script and presentation. Ultimately, the board passed the film without any cuts.
“Sitare Zameen Par” is not a direct sequel to Aamir’s 2007 film “Taare Zameen Par”, which sparked a meaningful conversation about the education system and its impact on children’s minds. Instead, it’s being viewed as a spiritual sequel, sharing the same soul and core emotion but with a brand-new story. The original film had collected 98 crores worldwide and received 11 Filmfare nominations and 3 national awards.
This new film features 10 new faces and stars Aamir Khan opposite Genelia Deshmukh. The director, R.S. Prasanna, is known for his work on “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan”. Aamir is also co-producing the film, bringing his creative insights to the project.
“Sitare Zameen Par” is scheduled to hit theaters on June 20, 2025. With its clearance from the CBFC, the film industry is abuzz with positive expectations. Aamir Khan is known for his ability to touch hearts, and anticipation is high that he will do so once again with this film.
