Bollywood’s very own Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, is usually a one-project-at-a-time kind of guy. But hold onto your popcorn, because it looks like he’s breaking his own rule! Rumor has it, Aamir is gearing up to tackle two massive films at once. This news has everyone buzzing. How will the superstar, known for his singular focus, pull off such a grand double act?
The two big projects making waves are a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, often called the father of Indian cinema, and an ambitious film based on ‘Mahabharata’, India’s epic tale. Fans are wondering if Aamir can really juggle both. It’s certainly a fresh twist for someone famous for pouring all his energy into one role.
Phalke Biopic Kicks Off in January
First up, the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic. Aamir is set to play the legendary filmmaker himself. He’s reuniting with director Rajkumar Hirani, the mastermind behind hits like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’. This collaboration is exciting all by itself. Originally, cameras were supposed to roll last October. However, Aamir wasn’t completely happy with the script from Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. He asked them to go back to the drawing board for some tweaks. Good news though: sources tell Amar Ujala that filming is now expected to begin in January. The script is still getting its finishing touches.
Mahabharata Scripting Could Begin Soon
Then there’s the ‘Mahabharata’ project, a true passion project for Aamir. He recently shared updates with Komal Nahta, confirming he’s been working on this dream for years. Aamir hopes that if all goes well, the script work for ‘Mahabharata’ will begin this year. He mentioned it could start within the next two to three months. He envisions the epic story as a multi-part series, which means a huge amount of planning. Aamir clarified that while the ideas are his, his team will handle the actual writing of the script.
How Aamir Plans His Double Feature
So, how does Aamir plan to manage two such huge projects? It seems it all comes down to his different roles in each. He will be on set, acting as Dadasaheb Phalke in that biopic starting in January. Meanwhile, his team will be busy crafting the ‘Mahabharata’ script, with Aamir providing the overall vision and direction. Because he won’t be writing the ‘Mahabharata’ script day-to-day, it leaves him free to act in the Phalke film. This clever division of labor makes it possible for the first time for Aamir to work on two big ventures at once.
