Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionism in Bollywood, has been open about his struggles with depression. He admits that whenever one of his films fails to impress at the box office, he can’t help but feel a pang of sadness. As someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, Aamir confessed that he still gets emotional when his movies don’t do well.
He expressed his sentiments at an event, saying, “When my films don’t work, I feel sad. Filmmaking is a challenging task, and sometimes things don’t go as planned.” Aamir reflected on his performance in “Lal Singh Chadha,” stating that he had put in a lot of effort, but unfortunately, it didn’t resonate with audiences the way Tom Hanks’ performance did in the original film. He acknowledged that his team had worked hard, but sometimes, despite their best efforts, things just don’t work out.
Aamir revealed that when his films fail, he goes through a phase of depression, feeling strange and withdrawn for about two to three weeks. During this time, he sits down with his team to reflect on what went wrong and how they can learn from their mistakes. He accepts his failures and uses them as an opportunity to grow.
The film “Lal Singh Chadha” was released in 2022 and grossed only about 60 crores, failing to make a mark at the box office. Aamir’s ex-wife Kiran Rao had mentioned in an interview that the film’s failure took a toll on their family as well. She said that they all stood by Aamir, supporting him through that difficult time.
After the release of “Lal Singh Chadha,” Aamir took a step back from the screen, stating that he wanted to focus on spending time with his family. It’s been three years since he last appeared in a film, although he has been spotted at events and public appearances. Despite his hiatus, Aamir’s fans continue to wait eagerly for his return to the screen.
