Aamir Khan has been stepping out quite a bit lately, and guess who’s almost always by his side? Gauri Spratt! The couple recently made headlines at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025. A video of them attending the event, holding hands, quickly went viral online. It was a sweet moment for fans to see.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025 has officially begun, and it certainly kicked off in style. Aamir Khan and Gauri were among the early arrivals on the festival’s first day. The press conference itself was a star-studded affair. Attendees included Aamir Khan, along with comedian and actor Ve Das, actress Tillotama Shome, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Jaideep Ahlawat. Directors Shoojit Sircar, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, and R.S. Prasanna were also present. Aamir Khan on Connecting Cultures

Aamir Khan shared his thoughts on the film festival. He expressed how wonderful it felt to be in Melbourne. He said he was “extremely happy” to be part of the IFFM. He believes it is a “great platform for cinema” that brings people and cultures together. Aamir added that he feels sure all the films and filmmakers at the festival will have a “wonderful experience.”

Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange’s Vision

Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange also spoke about her excitement for the Melbourne Film Festival. She explained that every year, IFFM is a stage for “great stories, talent, and the passion for cinema.” She proudly mentioned hosting “legends like Aamir Khan,” along with “storytellers like Shoojit Sircar and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari.” She noted that their performances “touch the hearts of audiences worldwide.”

This year’s festival will open with the film ‘Baksho Bondi’. Lange highlighted it as a “prime example of creativity.” She believes having such wonderful guests also makes the event a “cultural festival.” It helps strengthen the bond between India and Australia, she added. As is tradition, the 16th edition of IFFM will also feature the hoisting of the tricolor flag.
