A woman was shot and four members of his family, including three children, were injured in their car while parking at an apartment block in Texas.
Police said they are looking for at least two suspects in the shooting, which occurred just before 6 p.m. Sunday in the town of Sunnyvale, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) east of Dallas.
“They were all shot in the car,” said Sunnyvale Police Chief Bill Vegas, noting that many shots had been fired.
“It’s a horrifying scene,” Vegas said at a news conference near the scene, where a white pickup truck with bullet holes was seen in the parking lot.
A man and a woman were in a black car that followed the family into the parking lot. When the family was still in their vehicle, at least one of the suspects got out and started shooting, Vegas said.
The woman died at the scene. A man and the children, who were between the ages of 8 and 10, were taken to hospitals. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Vegas said.
