The information was offered Rafael Flores, expert in sustainable mobility and commercial director of Vehículos Eléctricos RD, during the “3rd. Expo Sustainable Mobility Fair 2023″, as a data offered in the “3rd national communication for the United Nations Convention on Climate Change”.
Flores highlighted the growth, importance and awareness of electric mobility in the environmental impact and added that electric vehicles offer significant benefits in terms of emissions reduction, savings in operating costs, maintenance, and monthly economic savings of up to 80% for the user, depending on the expense.
“According to statistics, a person who usually spends approximately RD2,000 to RD5,000 a month on fuel, with an electric vehicle would only increase your electricity bill from 2 to 3 thousand pesosin its average consumption.
Flores, affirmed that on this occasion the fair exhibited more than 70 models of electric vehicles, and urged that the country has more than 600 public and private charging stations, in addition “it is demonstrated that 95% of the population charges their vehicles in their homes, while they sleep.
The sustainable mobility expert added that electric vehicle adoption is expected to continue to rise due to the reduction in battery costs, improvements in vehicle autonomy and the growing awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability.
That is why, he said, “it is estimated that in the coming years there will be a Significant expansion of stations in the Dominican Republicboth in public spaces and in homes and workplaces,” added Flores.
“Electric mobility has the support of the Superintendency of Electricity, which has given us the way to massively install chargers throughout the country, so much so that we currently have more than 600 public and private chargers from Manzanillo to Punta Cana”, affirmed the expert in sustainable mobility.
In this opportunity, the Expo Fair exhibited more than 70 models of hybrid and electric vehicles BYD, Volvo, Lexus, Nissan, Toyota, Go Electric, Skywell, MG, Maxus, E-Motors, Zero Emission RD, Ev Auto center and also skateboards, bicycles and electric motors.
